Thriving Leaders Flourishing Teams

Building Relational Culture

"If leaders want to influence their people, it is crucial that they have an understanding of the emotional pulse of their organisation." A.Tan, Emotions Matter in the Workplace, July 2021.

By creating a safe space for their people to express their emotions, leaders can consciously shape the emotional culture and better motivate their people. This emotional culture has to be supported at all levels of the organisation and the role of senior leadership is to drive it, lead by example and speak of it explicitly with their people. According to Dr Jochen Menges, leaders play a key role in setting the mood of a place. The key is emotional intelligence that enables them to recognise emotions in oneself and others. They are able to steer emotions within their organisation in ways that help their people reach their goals rather than hinder them. Emotions Matter in the Workplace

Thriving Leaders Flourishing Teams is a programme that empowers leaders to understand and tap into the the emotional pulse of their organisation. Using the proven 5A approach to assess, acknowledge and increase of awareness to build action and accountability. It enables schools and organisations to manage their wellbeing strategy with their stakeholders; helps leaders understand what drives and motivates the people in their teams. It is an important programme for schools and organisations that want to look after the wellbeing of their people and support safe conversations on emotions.

The Emotional Culture Deck (ECD) is a tool that strengthens our ability to articulate our emotions and feelings for better well-being and outcomes. The game helps us to talk about our feelings, develop goals for change success, build cohesive relationships and establish a wellbeing focused team.

Thriving through Change

This programme draws from the efficacy of the Te Ara Whakamana model used in the change management process I used while leading the Teacher-Led Innovation Fund Project in Arahoe School (2017-2019). Showing the links between feelings and logic as described by Greek philosophy and the Maori narrative, organisations, leaders, teams and coaches will learn how to use the model to enable and manage change in an organisation or a team.

The heart is who they are. Each organisation or team is grounded and supported by the significant keys that hold who they are. The upper domains enable organisations and individuals to recognise their dispositions, prepare them to recognise themselves in the various stages of the change process, always conscious of their pathos and logos, thus enabling them to respond effectively and efficiently to the demands of change. As part of the change process, inclusive leaders and their teams will learn how to:

engender F.U.N.

maximise spheres of influence

practice active constructive responding

build relationships

acknowledge and celebrate

flourish

Flourishing Pathway

Flourishing Pathway is a wellbeing programme that gives us insights to who we are:

  • our strengths and virtues

  • the 6 areas in our lives that supports and nurtures us

  • how we respond to events and challenges

  • the 6 crucial areas of our being that enable us to flourish

  • recognising the role of our feelings and passion

  • harnessing our energies to flourish.

Based on a mana enhancing, self-awareness and self-recognition circular model that equips individuals to create and use the model independently after the programme.
